Between June 25 and July 4, 2024, the Department of Agricultural Land Management and Development successfully completed the implementation of participatory agricultural land use planning in Dong Kankou Village, Champhon District, Savannakhet Province. This initiative was carried out in close collaboration with the Village Management and Development Department, the Department of Agriculture and Forestry, the Office of Agriculture and Forestry, and the Office of Natural Resources and the Environment.

The joint planning effort resulted in the establishment of an agricultural land use plan for Dong Kankou Village, covering a total area of 716.29 hectares. The land has been categorized into seven distinct types of use: 603.88 hectares designated for agriculture, 72.38 hectares for cultivation, 2.72 hectares for forest land, 8.89 hectares for cultural purposes, 9.35 hectares for public works and transportation, and 8.98 hectares designated as water areas.

This collaborative approach ensures that the land in Dong Kankou Village is utilized efficiently and sustainably, aligning with the community’s development goals while preserving natural resources.
